Welcome to the website for the Diocese of Peoria Catholic Committee on Scouting. Feel encouraged to direct comments about how this site can be of more help to you to the e-mail contact at the bottom of the page. May God bless you and give you His Peace.
The Diocese of Peoria Catholic Committee on Scouting exists to promote the formation of youth and adults consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church and in association with the National Catholic Committee on Scouting [NCCS] and the National Federation of Catholic Youth Mininstries [NFCYM]. Through these associations we hope to help teach and live the Faith and life of Jesus Christ using the programs of the Boys Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America and the Campfire programs for girls and boys.
We hope you find this site useful in locating resources and support in Scouting, in Campfire and in the Catholic Faith in Christ. |

Pope Pius XII emblem program
Any high school aged Boy Scout or Venture Scout interested in earning their Pope Pius XII emblem:
It's not to early to begin to think about earning your religious emblems. The Ad Altare Dei emblem and the Pope Pius XII emblem are completed by a group of Boy Scouts working together with a trained religious emblems counselor. These programs take several months to complete, so don't wait until fall rolls around to start planning.

Duty to God Patch

The 12th point of the Scout Law states "A Scout is Reverent". In recent years, as the Catholic Church has more fully developed its apostolate to youth, it has become known as Youth Ministry. Scouting IS a significant part of this ministry.
To commemorate the NCCS initiative to expand the outreach of Scouting to more sponsoring organizations and youth this patch has been made available for use by local DCCS and Scout groups.
Suggested Uses for the Duty to God Patch:
- youth who are working on or have completed a religious emblem
- youth and adult members of a Pope Paul VI unit
- youth and adults participating in a retreat event
- youth and adult members of a National Gold Medallion or regional finalist unit
- participants in the St. George Trek
- each person contacted to start a new unit such as clergy, laypersons, KC members, etc
- adult members completing training
